Editing
My editing process is intended to help authors, writers and businesses produce a polished and ready-to-publish piece that achieves its intended goal. I edit primarily using the Chicago Manual of Style. Editing services are for completed manuscripts and will include my feedback, comments and accompanying notes.
Word Processor
Microsoft Word is the industry standard and will be used to make edits. I edit using the Track Changes function, which enables you as the author of the work to make the final decision to accept or reject my suggested changes.
The primary way I communicate with my clients is through email. Inquiries, contracts, documents, invoices and other communications will be sent via email. I aim to respond within one to two business days.
Project Agreement
I require a signed written agreement prior to starting work. A customized, project-specific agreement will be sent to you containing your project's scope of work. It can be sent via a document signing program or you can reply to my email with your written agreement.
Pricing
My developmental editing rate is $0.03 per word for fiction and $0.038 per word for non-fiction. My rate for copyediting is $0.02 per word for fiction and $0.03 for non-fiction. Book coaching is $75 for one 45-minute session, $60 for two sessions or more, or $325 per six sessions. Please contact me for pricing on all other services, custom requests and special offers.
Payment
Invoices over $100 may be paid in two installments. Half prior to starting work and half before the delivery of the final product. Invoices totaling $100 or less are paid in full before services begin. My preferred methods of payment are Stripe, wire and bank transfers.
